Fall Is Full Of Opportunity!

Happy September!

When I think of “new” and “growth”, I usually think of spring flowers, happy sun and crisp air. After a humid summer of markets and trial runs, I predict fall being an opportunity for cozy, intimate group opportunities for pumpkin spice drinks and art in a class setting. It gives Barnhart Glass Art a moment to grow the services we offer and add new specials for our customers.

Our DIY glass table has been such a success with all ages. I look forward to being able to open my home for the sake of art, or transporting the class to schools, workshops, churches and private parties. I have been blown away by the youngsters’ artistic abilities (as young as three!). I have had kids make stormy rain clouds, our entire solar system, their favorite pets. When a few parents and grandparents joined in the fun, a friendly competition arose with impressive monograms, mosaics, and landscapes being created. Witnessing the joy in faces upon picking up finished pieces was priceless, reaffirming the passion I have for my teaching of this craft.

The DIY painting table was popular during our July festival, but few were interested at markets. I have learned the indecisiveness of the subject to paint and not knowing how long the painting would be caused people to pass up the chance to create. With that in mind, I came up with a few basic templates (animals, letters, symbols) for our passing friends to choose from. Providing these options gave more time to make a quick little mess before peeling off the template and revealing their design under the paint. This DIY would be ideal for birthday parties or for adults who’d like to enjoy some adult beverages during the painting process without worrying about losing a crisp yet personal image. Keep an eye out for our “Paint and Peel” designs as it grows in our Etsy shop!

Also new to Barnhart Glass Art is fused glass design of the month. Each month, we will choose a specialty glass and offer 20% off it’s price. It will be for all coasters, plates, and pedants of the special design. For the month of September, we have sunflower yellow streaky glass! Although advance orders are appreciated, custom orders will not be considered in the specialty pricing.
